Beth Barber appointed to The

Commonwealth Council on Aging

Beth Barber, Program Director at the Senior Center, has been appointed by the Senate Committee on rules in conformance to the Commonwealth Council on Aging. The Commonwealth Council on Aging is composed of citizens of all kinds. They promote an efficient, coordinated approach by state government to meeting the needs of older Virginians. There are 19 appointed members and four ex-officio members. The Governor appoints 11 members, one from each of Virginia’s congressional districts. Of the remaining eight-at-large members, four are appointed by the Speaker of the House of Delegates and four by the Senate committee on Privileges and Elections. This committee meets quarterly and all the meetings are open to the public.
