Leading Prayers in Foxholes - The History of Military Chaplains

Chaplains have accompanied American troops into battle since George Washington, but it was not until WWI that chaplaincy became an official part of the US military.  But in WWI, chaplaincy included only Protestants & Catholics, which caused anguish for Jewish parents when their son was killed.  Today the military chaplaincy includes Rabbis, Imams, & leaders of many other religions.  Come learn how the military chaplaincy evolved & how it operates today.  Free and open to the community.

How and Why Did Christianity become the largest faith in the world today?

If we take out the doctrinal aspects of early Christianity, and look at what was it about the political and social aspects that were attractive enough to eventually edge out existing paganism.  And last for 2000 plus years, and create a unique culture to become the largest religion in the world and the basis for all Western democracies.  And most surprising, for the first few hundred years, unlike Islam, it was not spread by the sword.  There was no force involved.  We will trace the history in a secular way to look for answers.  Free and open to the community.
