Connecting with Yourself through Creativity

Connecting with Yourself through Creativity
Tuesday, May 8, 2018 | 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Details:

This two-hour introductory class uses the Open Studio Process, combining music, art, writing and reading aloud, to create a powerful process for personal exploration and growth. *

The class is free of comments or critique, letting participants access their inner wisdom and expand their intuition through art and writing.  The class combines intuitive art-making with thoughtful writing and reflection.  Both experienced artists and those with no training or experience are welcome.

Participants say "Open Studio has helped me to open up and listen to my creative voice. It has taught me to be less judgmental."   "This class is like meditation – but more fun, and messier!”

*A National Endowment for the Arts study showed that older adults involved in participatory art programs had better health, fewer doctor visits, and better mental health outcomes

The class facilitator, Janet Beals Orejudos, has been practicing for 20 years as part of Open Studio Project in Chicago, where this art and writing process was developed.  $20 fee for supplies.  Sign up at Welcome Desk or on line.
