Senior Center, Inc. is a nonprofit community center with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. We positively impact our community by creating opportunities for healthy aging through social engagement, physical well-being, civic involvement, creativity, and lifelong learning. Membership is open to anyone age 50 and better.
Visitors are always welcome at the Senior Center. The first Tuesday of every month is a particularly good time to visit -- that's when we have Try It Out Tuesday, an informal open house. Drop in anytime from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and try out whatever programs and events are going on that day. At noon, please join us for a light lunch provided by Whole Foods Market and take in a brief orientation presentation to learn about the Center and meet some of our program leaders and staff. Try It Out Tuesday is generously sponsored by The Colonnades, an independent living community and retirement home in Charlottesville that is a perfect fit for active senior citizens.
There are a number of membership options designed to suit full-time residents, part-time residents, or long-term visitors. The annual memberships are our most cost effective and popular choices, even for those who are not in the Charlottesville area year round. Please email Member & Guest Relations Coordinator Judy Gardner with questions, or call her at 434.974.7756.
